Building Fun!!

This week Room 3 was lucky enough to be given a chance to use the E PRO 8 equipment to build moving objects.  They all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I was so impressed with what they built in 45 minutes. I don't think I have ever had a class who got along so well in their groups and were so engrossed in what they were doing.

Next year when they are in Year 5/6 they will be able to enter into a local competition amongst other schools in the Mid Canterbury community.

A big thank you Indie, Willow, Roseta, Myra-Lei, Fua, Brittany and Athlants for leading each build.

Please note:  One group ,who will remain nameless made Miss Bishop a walking frame!! Hmmm not sure how to take that?!  Did make me laugh though. 😄

Community Helpers Non-Uniform Day in Room Hoiho!

So on the last Wednesday of term 1 everyone at school dressed up as a community helper to support the Salvation Army's contribution to help those people in need.  Many cans of food were donated and gold coins.  A big thank you to everyone in Room Hoiho who contributed.

Here are some photos of us on that day.  Please note:  Miss Bishop was dressed up as my father and part of his wide range of jobs as either a greenkeeper/ farmer he grows onions for the community.  All my life my Dad has helped in the community through his farming endeavours.  Scares me though that I am wearing the overalls that he wore back in the 1980's when we lived on our farm in Hinds and it still has that lovely farming aroma, as well as the original oily rag in the pocket!!  Mrs Bullock is a chef and Lulu was dressed up as her Mum working for Kai for Kids.  Others dressed up as an assistant principal (Kees, like son, like father!) while some were also dressed up as someone from their whanau and other helpful members of our community.  It was a great day with lots of fun!!  Miss Bishop got to pretend to be deaf for the day as my father (although he won't acknowledge it) can be hard of hearing, unless you mention money!!

Jayke's our Duffy Man!!

Jayke was the deserving winner of our last Duffy assembly award for term 1.  He really is trying to work hard on his attitude and to challenge himself more.

We are proud of you Jayke in Room 3.👍
